How we give back to our local community & planet 🌳

Supporting Local Communities

At Maya Lumber, we believe in supporting the communities where our wood is sourced. We do this in several ways.

Firstly, we offer job opportunities to local individuals in the region where the wood is sourced. By providing employment, we not only support the individuals and their families, but also contribute to the local economy.

Secondly, we donate off-cuts and tools to the community. These donations can assist in a number of ways, such as providing raw materials for local artisans to create their own products or providing tools to aid in the construction of infrastructure in the area.

Through these initiatives, we strive to make a positive impact on the local communities and support the economic growth of the region. We believe that by giving back in these ways, we can help to promote sustainable and responsible forest management practices, while also improving the lives of those in the communities we work with.

Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

Despite our efforts to minimise our carbon footprint, we recognise that shipping is an essential component of our business. However, we're committed to reducing emissions wherever possible. That's why we're proud to say that once your orders arrive in the UK, we exclusively use green energy and electric vehicles for all of our deliveries.

In addition, our efforts extend to our employees and everyday practices. Our employees all use sustainable transportation options such as public transit, biking, or walking to get to the workshop. These are just a few of the ways we're committed to minimising our impact on the environment and promoting a sustainable future.

Our 'Trees for Tomorrow' Program

At Maya Lumber, we are deeply committed to sustainability and responsible management of the jungle. Our passion for environmental conservation led us to the idea of starting a tree planting program.

Every time you purchase a product from us, you are not just getting a high-quality, beautiful, and sustainable wood product, but you are also actively participating in reforestation efforts. We firmly believe in giving back to the environment and supporting sustainable forest management practices that restore and protect our planet's precious greenery, one tree at a time.

With 'Trees for Tomorrow', we aim to make a positive impact on the environment by planting more trees in the jungle and other areas that need it the most. We are grateful for your support and partnership in our mission to create a more sustainable and greener world.

How You Can Recycle Our Packaging

At Maya Lumber, we believe that our commitment to sustainability doesn't stop at just sourcing and using eco-friendly wood products. We also care about the impact our packaging has on the environment. That's why we've made a conscious effort to use only recyclable materials in our packaging, including water-soluble tape and cardboard boxes.

In addition, we want to give our customers the chance to continue their eco-friendly efforts beyond just receiving their order. That's why we include a special piece of seed paper, made from post-consumer materials embedded with wildflower, herb, or vegetable seeds, cut in the shape of our logo into the invoice envelope. This way, our customers can plant the paper in a pot of soil or outside in a garden, and watch the seeds grow into plants that encourage bees to pollinate their residential area.
